The teaching of Kanjuro Shibata Sensei is supported by donations to Zenko International. One hundred percent of the proceeds from orders placed through this page support Sensei directly.
Zenko T-Shirts for 2011
This year's Zenko T-Shirt bears an original calligraphy by Sensei.The central character, "Ja," encompasses all our obstacles and conflicts. It is encircled by "Wa," peace, which dissolves all into emptiness. Sensei signed the calligraphy with his name seals — one seal for "Shibata," one seal for his child name, and his customary "Shibata" signature by hand — finishing with his Great Eastern Sun seal at the top. All four seals are reproduced on each shirt in red.
The shirts come in three styles: women's short sleeve, men's short sleeve, and men's long sleeve. Each shirt is high quality 100% cotton, pre-washed to prevent shrinkage — a comfortable, practical, uplifting reminder of our practice.

Still Available — Yumi Wrap & Kake Bags
These Kake Bags and Yumi Wraps were designed and meticulously sewn by Zenko Iba members, to celebrate Sensei entering his 90th year. Each was made of Japanese silk and cotton fabrics in traditional motifs, and embroidered with Sensei's Zenko "mon" or crest. From first thought to last stitch, the project took twelve months and became a meditation practice, holding the well-being of Sensei in our hearts.In all, forty-two one-of-a-kind pieces were created: ten kake bags, and sixteen sets of coordinating kake bags and yumi wraps. Two sets remain. We hope one of them will inspire you to make a special birthday donation to Sensei this year.
Thank you to all who requested we make more of these. We are sorry to report that, due to Japan's devastating tsunami, it may be some time before the materials become available again.
